MISSION

SOPHIA’s purpose is to serve as a central organization devoted to the scholarship of United States presidents and presidencies; primarily established for presidential historians in academia but welcoming students, nonacademic professionals, independent scholars, and other presidential enthusiasts; and dedicated to preserving and furthering presidential historical scholarship and historiography, all the while responsibly and meticulously distinguishing fact from opinion.
